Word-of-mouth is how Our Missing Hearts by Celeste Ng became my favorite novel in March. It’s not a genre I normally gravitate towards, but a dear friend and colleague recommended it. And now, I can’t stop thinking about the story.
The month was complicated for me with a few health hiccups, so I listened to the audio version, narrated by both Lucy Liu and the author, which added an interesting depth.
The richness of the words coupled with the power of the dystopian story, were both haunting and memorable. Or, as Stephen King wrote, “It’s impossible not to be moved.”
