Mother-Daughter Murder Night: My Favorite Mystery for February

I was drawn to Mother-Daughter Murder Night by Nina Simon for a number of reasons.

First, it was a gift from my sister-in-law who has great taste in books, second, it was set in an area of Northern California I’m quite familiar with from visits with relatives, and third, it’s a debut mystery from a non-fiction author. Since I’m a non-fiction author [My Books & Writing], writing her first mystery, I was curious on that level as well.

All three reasons were more than fulfilled. It’s a quick read with an intriguing mystery. But it’s also a story about family dynamics involving three generations of strong woman – a grandmother, a mother, and a teenager. I found it full of twists, personal drama, and heart.

If you like mysteries with challenging family dynamics, I think you’ll like Mother-Daughter Murder Night know I did.
