Coded Justice: My Favorite Thriller for August

Coded Justice is the third thriller I’ve read by Stacey Abrams, and like the other two, it doesn’t disappoint. Easily a stand-alone novel, it’s the third in her Avery Keene legal series with an intriguing story about the challenges of AI in medical systems.

For me, thrillers should be fast paced, full of surprises, and brimming with complex characters. Coded Justice is that and more. The story raises ethical questions, while illuminating both sides of an emerging technology that can both enhance lives and threaten them.

I listened to the audio version which was wonderfully narrated by Adenrele Ojo. If you like thrillers that are intriguing and/or fiction that raises thoughtful issues that keeps one thinking long after you’re finished, this might be a book for you. It certainly was for me.
