I haven’t posted in a while. There are many reasons for that, none of which matter at the moment.
What matters right now is how we, together, can support each other and navigate a collective and bright future.
In the scheme of things, our actions have the power to make a difference.

Life happens with or without our participation in it. By holding back engagement you lose the joy, love, and opportunities it holds, simply because they’re not the ones you seek.

As a colleague of Nan’s; I often post on Current Musings about work, life and the blending of the two. As 2016 comes to an end and a new year is around the corner; it seems like a perfect time for a bit of inspiration. So in this month’s post, my hope is you’ll find that inspiration.
In the words of Gandhi, “You must be the change you want to see in the world.” As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world … as in being able to remake ourselves.”
And, “You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.”
Lastly, “The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.”
We’d love to hear what inspires you. A quote? An idea? A story? Let us know.

I’m a colleague of Nan’s. I frequently post here about work, life and sometimes the blending of the two. Nan is busy this week working on her new book, It’s Not About Time, being released this Fall. So, I offered to post to her Current Musings blog.
Many of you know Nan is an avid quote collector. “A good one can encourage alternative thinking, offer nuggets of wisdom or nudge me towards new areas of consideration,” explains Nan.
Here is one of my favorites of Nan’s —

“While wishing and hoping makes you a dreamer, acting and doing makes you someone who can turn dreams into reality.” – Nan S. Russell
Is there something you can do this week to move forward one of your dreams? Go do it!

As a colleague of Nan’s, I regularly post here when things grab my attention about today’s workplace and sometimes, life. At this time of year, I make a conscious decision to think about the many good things and people I’m grateful for in my life. Gratitude … feeling or showing thanks, as defined by Webster. With that in mind, here are several of my favorite quotes about Gratitude:
“When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive. To breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.” – Marcus Aureluis
“An attitude of gratitude brings great things.” — Yogi Bhajan
“Gratitude is the sign of noble souls.” — Aesop
“Giving is an expression of gratitude for our blessings.” — Laura Arrillaga-Andreessen (continue reading →)
