Meaning & Work
This week's (9/13/10 to 9/19/10) Work Matters explores the topic of meaningful work.
It's been said that meaningful work is a key motivator for the employed. But, what is meaningful work? How do you know if you have it? And how do you get it if you don't?
The show starts with a segment of Uncommon Sense where Nan and her colleague Beth Pelkofsky field listener questions.
Then Nan interviews Dr. Neal Chalofsky, Associate Professor and Director of the Human and Organizational Learning Program at George Washington University and the author of Meaningful Workplaces . Dr. Chalofsky explains what his extensive research into meaningful work has shown us about ourselves and optimal organizational structure.
Nan finishes up the show with a special segment called Jobs, Jobs, Jobs, where she offers tips for job hunters.
