Reframing Your Past: Future Focused

This week's (8/30/10 to 9/5/10) Work Matters looks at how life events can shape who you are and what you can do to move past them.

Have you suffered trauma in your life? Have you been able to move beyond a life-shaping event? Do you know what steps you need to take to become future focused?

This week's guest, Dr. Nathaniel Williams, was one of 12 children orphaned when his mother died then entered the foster care system at the age of five. He has since done much work in the area of personal and professional development. He's also the author of seven books, including Embracing Your Real Life. In today's interview, he explains how your personal development can be stunted by not embracing and then moving past your difficult life-shaping events.

Then, the show continues with the regular segment of Uncommon Sense when Nan and her colleague Beth Pelkofsky field listener questions.
